Val Hoyle’s troubles multiplying
September 6, 2023
Brazen corruption — that’s what new records reported by Willamette Week reveal about Val Hoyle and La Mota.
Among the revelations today:
- Val Hoyle’s staff knew a marijuana apprenticeship would be illegal, but pushed forward anyway.
- Hoyle’s staff bragged about finding a “work around.”
- The scheme first tried to create an apprenticeship solely benefitting La Mota before La Mota executives created a front group, ENDVR.
- ENDVR executive director Laura Vega also worked for La Mota.
- ENDVR claimed it would train four “people of color.” In reality, ENDVR only trained two individuals, who were white. At least one of the two worked for La Mota.
“No wonder corrupt Val Hoyle has stonewalled turning over public records for eight months. Each record dump adds fuel to the fire showing Hoyle schemed to give her donors taxpayer funds no matter how absurd their grant application was.” – NRCC Spokesperson Ben Petersen
