Butterfield casts doubt on Davis’ chances

February 16, 2024

The forecast for Don Davis? Cloudy.

Davis’ predecessor, G. K. Butterfield, is casting doubt over Davis’ re-election chances: “I have no confidence that he or any other Democrat will be able to appeal to Republican voters.”

In a toss-up district where Davis is seen as “one of Democrats’ most vulnerable House incumbents,” it’s bad news that even Butterfield can’t get behind Davis.

“We agree with Butterfield that Davis’ record can’t appeal to Republicans. Davis is a dyed in the wool Democrat who supports Biden’s inflationary policies that are making life harder for North Carolinians.” — NRCC Spokeswoman Delanie Bomar
