NE-02 primary night takeaways
If Don Bacon’s resounding primary election victory taught us anything, it’s that Bacon’s brand is as strong as ever. Don’t just take it from us though — here’s what they’re saying about Bacon’s victory:
New York Times: “Bacon, a former brigadier general in the Air Force, carved out a niche for himself as one of the only Republicans who could hold the Omaha-based swing seat…That brand came through for him on Tuesday night.”
KMTV: “It took only one batch of votes to be counted before the race was called for Bacon, who pulled in nearly twice as many votes as Frei.”
Fox News: “Don Bacon, R-Neb., defeated his toughest primary challenge yet on Tuesday night with 70.2% of the vote.”
ABC 8: “It was a clean sweep Tuesday for Nebraska’s three members of the U.S. House of Representatives.”
“As a former brigadier general and strong, commonsense legislator, there is no one better suited to serve Nebraska voters than Don Bacon. As the general election begins, we are eager to remind Nebraskans why they rejected Tony Vargas before – his liberal out-of-touch record on inflation and crime – as well as new troubling allegations of violent assault.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Delanie Bomar
