PEREZ THE PRETENDER: Skipped the Vote, Left Washington Families Behind

September 22, 2025

Last week, out of touch Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez refused to do her job, skipping the vote and selling out Washington families.

Her cowardly refusal to stand up could put Washington families directly in harm’s way:

  • Threatening families’ safety due to law enforcement officers, members of the military, and TSA workers may be forced to work without pay.
  • Blocking 52,990 veterans from accessing critical programs, including employment assistance.
  • Forcing 9,679 federal workers in WA-03 to work without pay.
  • Jeopardizing millions in loan financing for the state’s 695,695 small businesses.
  • Limiting access to financial assistance, including disaster relief, for 8,724 farmers.
  • Endangering funding for the Head Start program that serves 5,719 children in Washington.

Bottom line: Marie Gluesenkamp Perez put a partisan stunt ahead of the livelihoods of everyday Washington families.

“Instead of standing for Washington families out of touch Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez voted to bring the government to a grinding halt, holding Washington families hostage. Washington families won’t forgive this betrayal.” – NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez
