NEW: Gonzalez on most vulnerable list

November 4, 2025

With one year to go until the 2026 midterm elections, incumbent out of touch Democrat Vicente Gonzalez is the second most vulnerable Member of Congress.

Gonzalez is sitting in a Trump-won district in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley, which has been the epicenter for Republican gains with Latino voters (as evidenced by the district’s 20-point swing to the right between 2020-2024). Despite the groundswell of support for Republicans, Gonzalez has consistently acted as an obstructionist to President Trump’s agenda and worked to make life harder for Texans by voting to raise their taxes and open the southern border.

“Out of touch Democrat Vicente Gonzalez has spent years doing absolutely nothing for South Texans, which is why they’re ready to send him packing next November. Whether it’s opening the southern border, raising taxes on hardworking families, or spiking energy costs, Gonzalez’s priorities could not be more out of line with the Rio Grande Valley’s.” – NRCC Spokesman Reilly Richardson
