Vicente Gonzalez Voted Against Generational Rural Healthcare Investment for Texas

January 2, 2026

This week, the Trump Administration announced that Texas will receive the largest share of the $50 billion rural healthcare fund Republicans established for the American people, totaling more than $281 million. The funding will make an enormous impact on healthcare in the Rio Grande Valley.

REMINDER: Vulnerable Democrat Vicente Gonzalez voted against this funding, endangering rural hospitals in South Texas and across the country.

“Vicente Gonzalez did everything he could to prevent healthcare improvements for working families in the Rio Grande Valley. Gonzalez has repeatedly failed South Texans, which is why they’ll choose new leadership this year.” – NRCC Spokesman Reilly Richardson
