Perez Rejects Millions for Rural Healthcare in Washington

January 16, 2026

Today, President Trump highlighted the rural healthcare fund that Republicans established for the American people. Washington is set to receive $181,257,515 million in critical funding to keep rural hospitals open, expand access to care, and ensure families aren’t forced to travel hours for basic medical services.

Vulnerable Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez voted against this funding, endangering rural hospitals in Washington and across the country.

“Marie Gluesenkamp Perez’s vote against critical healthcare funding for Washington communities is a slap in the face to Washington families who have continued to be ignored by Democrats. While Republicans deliver results, Perez continue to play partisan political games.” – NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez
