NRCC Statement on Democrats Adding Randy Villegas to “Red to Blue” Program

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released the following statement on Democrats adding Randy Villegas to the “Red to Blue” program:

“After Democrats embarrassed themselves by elevating a candidate who couldn’t win, they’re doubling down on a losing strategy by throwing their support behind Socialist Randy Villegas. Democrats know Villegas can’t beat Congressman David Valadao, as he embraces the same failed policies that have made California more expensive, less safe, and harder for working families in the Central Valley.” – NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez 

BACKGROUND:

• Democrats publicly admitted they didn’t believe Villegas can win the general election.
• The DCCC endorsed Randy Villegas’ opponent in the Democrat primary, in which Villegas responded, “This is about party leadership and D.C. elites putting their thumb on the scale…“
• Democrats are threatening to not pay their DCCC dues after a “failed effort to boost their favored candidate in a Democratic primary.”
