NEW: Lying Laura Gillen is (AGAIN) Taking Credit for Funding She Voted to Block
A new report exposes that Lying Laura Gillen is once again shamelessly taking credit for critical funding that she voted against.

Gillen held press conferences and photo ops last week to take a victory lap on funding for the Floral Park Fire Department and the Franklin Square Public Library – even though she voted against the bill that delivered it.
And this has become a pattern for Gillen: Vote no, brag about the funding, and spend hundreds of taxpayer dollars on fake checks to do it…
“Plain and simple: Lying Laura Gillen tried to stop critical funding from reaching her district, and now she’s trying to take credit for it anyway. The only reason this funding made it to Long Island is because of House Republicans. Gillen’s photo-ops and fake checks are dishonest, unacceptable, and Long Islanders deserve a fighter like Jeanine Driscoll.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole

WASHINGTON — Long Island Rep. Laura Gillen recently bragged about $500,000 worth of federal funds that were sent to her district, despite voting against the final passage of the bill.
Last week, the congresswoman touted $250,000 sent to the Floral Park Fire Department to purchase a new firetruck and $250,000 for the Franklin Square Public Library.

In the vote that actually mattered to pass that legislation into law, which came in February, Gillen voted against it, roll call records show.

Her rival, Republican Jeanine Driscoll, slammed Gillen over the brag.
“Laura Gillen – again- takes credit for funding for which she voted NO. This time it’s the Franklin Square Library. Stop lying Laura. She is shameless,” Driscoll chided.

Last year, The Post reported on how Gillen took credit for nearly $1 million in federal firefighting funding that came from a government funding package she opposed.
