Villegas Voted Yes. Two Girls Paid the Price.
New reporting reveals Socialist Randy Villegas personally voted to rehire a man previously fired by Visalia Unified amid allegations of predatory behavior toward students.

Villegas voted “aye” in October 2022 to hire DeJaun Jones as a high school campus supervisor. Jones had previously been fired by the district after police investigated inappropriate messages he allegedly sent to a student-athlete.
Six months after Villegas’ vote, Jones was arrested. He later pleaded guilty to 11 felony counts involving the sexual abuse of two students and was sentenced to five years in prison. The district reportedly paid victims nearly $14 million.
Villegas has refused to answer questions about his vote.
“Socialist Randy Villegas failed children, betrayed parents, and left taxpayers to clean up the wreckage of his grotesque incompetence. Villegas should be answering for this catastrophic failure, not asking Central Valley families for a promotion.” – NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez
